Do you want to share a tweet on your Facebook timeline or Facebook Page but you’re not sure how to do it?
Sharing a tweet on Facebook is pretty easy once you know how to do it. You could also cross-posting your post on Twitter and Facebook automatically — which is pretty common things to do.
In this post, you’ll learn how to post a tweet on Facebook in 3 simple steps and also find out how you could do it automatically.
Share a Tweet on Facebook Manually in 3 Simple Steps
Step 1: Find the tweet you want to share
In this example, I’m going to use one of TypeEighty’s tweets.
Step 2: Get the direct URL to the tweet
Now, you might be wondering how you could get the URL to the tweet. Simply click on the timestamp on the tweet.
As the tweet loaded on the page, you could copy the URL on the browser’s address bar.
Step 3: Publish a new post on Facebook
Next, head over to your Facebook. Create a new post on Facebook and paste over the URL you copied in step 2.
Facebook will automatically fetch and display the preview of the tweet.
You should add a message to your post and don’t forget to include a call to action to increase your engagement.
Keep your post short. Studies show that keeping your Facebook post below 80 characters could increase your engagement by 66%.
Finally, just delete the actual link you pasted earlier to keep your post clean.

Share Tweet on Facebook Automatically
While the steps above only take seconds to share tweet on your Facebook, I’m gonna show you how you could do it automatically as I do.
There’re a few tools you could use to do this, my favorite tool is Buffer.
Buffer is a social media management tool, it’s easy to use and free.
Step 1: Sign up for an account
Head over to Buffer and start a free 14-day trial. At the end of the trial, your account will be downgraded to a free plan where you can connect 3 social accounts.
Step 2: Connect your Twitter and Facebook accounts
Once you connect both your Twitter and Facebook accounts, you should see it on the sidebar.
Step 3: Compose a new message and select both Twitter and Facebook.
To start sharing, click on the text field. And make sure you select both your accounts. Buffer will share this post on your Twitter and Facebook.
If you want to customize the message for each social network, click on the “Customize for each network” button.
Now you can change the message separately.
Final Thoughts
Over the past years, Twitter has made changes to their website layout and functionality. You might notice some of the tutorials out there are outdated and irrelevant.
I’ll try to keep updating this article whenever such things happen so you could always follow the steps in this article to share a tweet on Facebook easily.
If you prefer to cross-post your content on Twitter and Facebook automatically, you could try Buffer and start scheduling some posts.
